Passionate about living things, Golnaz Behrouznia and I came up with the concept for the exhibition together. Reverse phylogenesis<\/em><\/strong>. It's a journey featuring twelve of our works, from which we create a logic between fiction and natural science. A cross-media and literary work, born of our imagination.<\/p>\n\t

Very recently, biologists discovered a species of jellyfish capable of reversing its life cycle, allowing it to return to a previous cellular state. Could it be that certain living species can undergo a process of rejuvenation over time, and thus move up the phylogenetic tree? A process of de-evolution that scientists might call \u00abreverse phylogenesis\u00bb.<\/p>\n

The discovery of organic molecules in space, notably on comet Chouri, has reopened the question of the emergence of life from inert matter in a pre-biotic world. Over the course of time, evolution has enabled us to explore an extraordinary diversity of systems, an incredible fauna whose traces persist in fossil form in the Burgess Shale. Only the most robust forms have survived, whose descendants we know today. Living experiments are now much less diversified.<\/p>\n\t

What kind of life forms might be produced by such a process of phylogenetic inversion in the 21st century?<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"catel02\"\n\t\t\t\t\"Cartel0bis\"\n\t\u00abReverse Phylogenesis\u00bb envisages a de-evolution that would enable us to explore once again, with extreme freedom, varied and extravagant forms of life, with strange anatomies and enigmatic functions.
\nThe mini-museum presented here reappropriates the unknowns of the living world. It questions the forms emerging from our contemporary imagination, blending the living, the artificial and human technologies. A face-to-face encounter with fundamental questions such as the nature of life and the destiny of biological evolution on earth.\n\t
